Shepard had traveled the few days after arriving to the Amrys Islands. He knew, that he and his Vulpix needed time to continue and work on their team work, gain team mates and get stronger. So maybe that's why he went this far west from the port he arrived at. Not many trainers had managed to get this far yet, but getting where he was now felt like an acomplishment. The twin towers of the Dragon Fangs had caught his attention as he passed the canyon made of red rock. Fiero had enjoyed the canyon, but the enjoyment faded the more north they went. It seemed much colder here than anywhere else they have been. Fresh snow on the hills in the distance. Shepard huffed in amusement as Fiero jumpped off his shoulder to stretch her legs on the cool ground. "Walking must be so tiring for you, huh?" His vulpix huffed a puff of fire at him, causing the blond to laugh in response. "Wha--" A rustling alerted Shepard to something happening to his left.
cUqZdJ_c1-245 Instinctively, Fiero leaped to Shepard's defense, breaking fire at the Duskull who backed away in surprise. "You got this, Fiero!" Bolstered by Shepard's voice, the Vulpix lunched forward with another breath of fire. Wounding the pokemon, Shepard quickly threw a pokeball towards the ghost pokemon's form.
1-10 "Alright!" Shepard cheered, scooping up the pokeball, then Fiero in celebration. "You did fantastic, Fiero." He gave his pokemon a hug, and let her jump back down. 1-245·1-10

It took them a bit of time to befriend the Duskskull, but after a few oran berries that Fiero was more than kind to share, they had settled with a peace. Shepard hadn't come up with a name yet, but didn't want to push the subject. After all, they just met. The Duskskull soon returned to the pokeball, leaving Shepard and his partner to explore some more. The closer they got to the towers, the more pokemon appeared, some they saw in passing, but another bolted out in front of the duo. XsF|PKX_1-245 The yamask appears, looks at the pair of them, then vanishes behind the bushes. Shepard took a step forward to go after them when another pokemon appeared, seemingly chasing after the other pokemon.
1-245 Watching the other Duskskull chase after the Yamask, Shepard shared a look with Fiero. "What an odd place. Well-- Let's keep moving." With that, the two pressed forward.1-245·1-245

They spent breakfast at a old bench, enjoying the wind that swept through the northern part of the island. Fiero despite not liking the colder weather had gotten used to the bitter wind, as long as it was accompanied by the warm sun. Fiero yelped in surprise as half her food was gone as she looked up at Shepard. Looking over, Shepard's eyes widened as he looked for the pokemon at fault.
l8lK|mIn1-245 A Mime Jr. was what Shepard saw with Fiero's breakfast in their hands. He shared a look with his Vulpix, who turned her head away. "Right..." Shepard laughed, tapping the pokeball to the little pokemon. 1-6 It rocked once, twice, three times before moving no longer. The blond rubbed the back of his head and offered the Vulpix part of his breakfast. "Hey, at least it worked. Your breakfast was bait." Fiero snached away part of Shepard's breakfast, curling her tail in a dignified manner. 1-245·1-6

As soon as Fiero had gotten over her breakfast getting stolen, they had encountered quite a few pokemon. None of which willing to join their team just yet. Shepard chattered casually to his Vulpix about what the others were doing at home. A crunch of a twig behind then caused the duo to turn suddenly.

Was it that Yamask from before? The creature jumpped at being spotted and darted into the bushes, Fiero barking after it. Shepard shook his head, continuing onward. "It might be a different one, Fiero." He exaplained, looking back as he walked. As he took a step, Shepard tripped over something in the road, causing him to go tumbling forward.
1-245 Another Mime Jr. cackled at Shepard as he tripped over the smaller pokemon. "H-hey!" The trainer yelled, Fiero colliding with the other pokemon, growling menicingly. The laughter of the other pokemon died away, and it scurried away into the trees. "Well, thank you, Fiero." The Vulpix merely brushed his leg with her side, and continued onwards, leading the way with her tail held high. They ended up veiring off the path, to explore in the wooded area around the towers.
1-245 A pokemon--Sigilyph seemed to be defending an area, it's sights set on the pair. It sent out a psycic wave towards the two of them, and they leaped to the side, avoiding the attack. "Fiero, go for it!" He yelled, pulling out a pokeball to ready himself. With a loud growl, the Vulpix threw herself at the pokemon, rolling then breathing fire at it's form. Amidst this, Shepard hurled a ball in it's direction. 1-15 The ball missed as it sent another wave in Shepard's direction. Rolling, the blond watched on as the Sigilyph battled against his Vulpix.
1-18 It didn't seem like one to give up the fight. Shepard heaved himself onto his feet. "Keep it up, Fiero!"
1-15 This one hit! Giving Fiero a moment to breathe before it erupted from the pokeball once again.
1-18 Again unwilling to give up the fight, the pokemon lashed out again, this time at Fiero, who took the hit, but breathed fire in response. "Come on" Shepard yelled, throwing another ball in the pokemon's direction. 1-15 Finally, the ball grew still. Maybe the pokemon learned that he was not the only one who refused to give up. Maybe it was Fiero's determination to not lose to it. Whatever it was--they caught it, and Shepard leaped in the air with a cheer. "Great job Fiero, I knew you could do it!" The boy scooped up his pokemon. "And look at you! Barely a scratch. You are amazing!" 1-245·1-245·1-245·1-15·1-18·1-15·1-18·1-15

The two of them took some time to relax after the last fight, getting to know their new teammates. Shepard wasn't able to think of nicknames quite yet, but it seemed they were all going to get along--which is all he really wanted at the moment. Satisfied, the duo continued their walk.
SqjPzgdF1-245 In the distance, Shepard spotted another pokemon. Freezing, he directed Fiero's attention toward the Abra that lingered under a tree. Vulpix nodded, her tail waving. Dashing forward, Fiero threw herself at the pokemon. Shepard throwing the pokeball as far as he could. 1-8 The ball missed, and the pokemon looked on fearfully.
1-10 As suddenly as they went after the pokemon, just as sudden it teleported away. Blanching, Shepard offered Fiero a smile. "We can't win all of them, right?" He offered his pokemon a smile and pulled a treat from his bag to give to his Vulpix.1-245·1-8·1-10

Some how, they were still having fun, the two of them. With an entire new island to explore, suffice to say that they hadn't even yawned since they got there. The duo finished their lunch eagerly, this time careful to avoid any pokemon attempting to take it from them. As they ate, Shepard spoke with Fiero about what the future, and what they planned to do next, all the while watching the various pokemon with curiosity.
K5X6Bd421-245 Smiling softly, Shepard watched the Duskull float past, turning his head in the other direction in search of maybe something they hadn't seen yet.
1-245 A Mime Jr. approached the group hesitantly, eyes set on Fiero's lunch, only to be scared off by the pokemon's growl and warning breath of fire.
1-245 A few minutes passed by, and as Shepard was cleaning up, a small pokemon intently staring back at him from the bushes. Fiero tracing her trainer's gaze turned to face the other pokemon, her hackles were rising when Shepard whispered. "Wait." Carefully approaching with scraps, Shepard crouched low to be closer to the Gothita's level. He held them out to the pokemon. Another long minute of staring, the pokemon approached and took the leftover crust from Shepard's sandwhich. With careful movements, Shepard touched a pokeball to the pokemon.
1-7 Startled, the pokemon immediately broke out of the pokeball.
1-20 Right away, Shepard put his hands up. "I'm sorry. Would you like to eat some more instead?" He held out more bread, keeping his other hand free of anything. Waiting until the Gothita built up more confidence and finished the scraps in his hand. "You know, you don't have to look for food when you are with me." The pokemon considered him for a long moment, blue eyes seemingly staring into his soul. Shepard held up the same pokeball. "You can touch the pokeball if you want to join us."
1-7 The Gothita seemed comforted, doing what seemed to be a small dance, then touching the pokeball. Caught!1-245·1-245·1-245·1-7·1-20·1-7

They were making all sorts of progress. Shepard couldn't help but have a smile fixed on his face. Again, he didn't find time to come up with names, but instead opted to push on. He hoped to have explored the entire place by the end of the say--allowing room to get back to a place to stay that is.
RGhUg5Px1-245 Shepard jumped as he spotted the spider pokemon, and skirted the edge--tossing the a pokeball for the hell of it.
1-7 Well, that was easy. Shepard picked up the ball with a sheepish look. He didn't really like spiders, but he would deal with it. Pocketing it, Shepard continued onwards with his Vulpix pointing out pokemon every now and again.
1-245 Again? Maybe it was the same one, Shepard nodded in it's direction. His Vulpix spotted it and nodded, stalking the pokemon so it wouldn't get away again. Well--hopefuly...it could always teleport, couldn't it?
1-8
These pokemon never really stayed, didn't they?
1-10 Before it could teleport away again, Shepard tossed another ball.
1-8 Shepard gave out a deep sigh as the ball failed again.
1-10 "Fucking Abras." Shepard grumbled as the pokemon teleported away once again. "Let's keep moving Fiero." He turned towards the path.1-245·1-7·1-245·1-8·1-10·1-8·1-10

Maybe it was the same pokemon. Shepard reasoned, kicking a rock away. Maybe it was just scared. The rock bounced off the tree sending a pokemon running across their path.
ZkJpcFVD1-245 He gave the Duskskull a sheepish smile as it sent a dirty look his way. as soon as it left, Shepard hurried across the path with his Vulpix behind him, not really wanting to stick around if the pokemon really was mad.
1-245 Behind a bush floated out another pokemon, who seemingly stared back at him as it floated away. "What is that?" Shepard asked, only staring as the pokemon vanished into the bushes. "W-wait!" he managed, 1-10 It avoided the pokeball easily, bobbing in the air as it sailed into the bushes behind.
1-18 With that, it too vanished. Sighing, Shepard scratched the back of his head. "Maybe we shouldn't try and catch every pokemon we see, Fiero." He offered1-245·1-245·1-10·1-18
