| "L and shark." She corrected rolling her eyes. Bell getting hurt pfft everyone gets hurt in their life emotions or otherwise. Would this have her heart crushed one day? Who knows? She didn't see reason in carrying how she got what need at least if they ever cross path. She would stronger and maybe teach her a real lesson. Your playing with the Devil's play after all. What would happens she really did a number on this girl?"I would fight you but that pathetic pup of yours wouldn't stand a chance again her. Some back when you a tad bit strong, okay dearie?" It was fun talking down to someone like there a toddler. These two were if they thought it would end like this but this other girl. So Nervous. So Naive. So Helpless. Like she was a one point in time. Maybe she did pity that other girl a little bit?
"I am going to give you both a tad bit of advice and use it well. Keep your friends close and enemies closer. While this islands seem nice it's nothing but an illusion. There monsters hiding in shadows they grow by day and when they come into light they'll will your worst nightmare. You have been warned. Goodbye girls." She walked waving and Bell follow her. So many weird, cryptic messages. Ramona hadn't realized she was holding her Pokeball until the girl had left. Her fingers were white around its glossy exterior, though she hadn't felt the anger until she saw herself trembling. Jello leaked down her forehead, offered a sound of concern. She quietly returned it to her Pokeball.
"I was going to catch a Pokemon today," she said. She searched for words to translate what she was feeling now; a weird and probing discomfort, not all physiological. "Now my head hurts."

Blaire growled under her breath, sounding a lot like her canine Pokémon. What guff! This girl talked like she was some sort of pseudo-intellectual, with a big mouth to match. She wanted to roll up and slug her for thinking that she could talk to her like that, but again: newcomer to the island, not wanting to get kicked off immediately, and all that.
"Get lost... Dragonbreath," she called out after Sue, struggling to come up with a good insult in the heat of the moment. That one wasn't too bad, at least in her opinion. Still... With enemies like that, she wasn't going to even bother keeping her close. No way, no how! Augh, what the heck was she doing before this anyway?
Oh right, Ramona. The other girl seemed put-off, though it wasn't extremely easy to tell what was going on in her mind. Not that she knew her that well anyway... or at all. Ahh, she was thinking about it too hard. They both were, by the sound of it.
"C'mon Ramona, we can't let them get to us. You want to catch a Pokémon? We should catch one!" She pumped a fist into the air, trying to bring out an encouraging nature. It wasn't a bad idea. Only having one Pokémon was sure to get her trounced in some future battle, no matter how strong she felt her Growlithe was. It would do to catch another one or two, and she might as well do it now.

Ramona glanced over at Blaire, and at once her mind began to clear. It was like a powerwasher to the gunk of her brain, like she had been lifted from a trance Yeah, she came here for a reason! She couldn't help but smile, and after it came an avalanche of warm energy, forceful as the sadness that had pervaded her so suddenly before.
"Let's do it," she said. There were already bug Pokemon buzzing through the air, the rustling of grass nearby, and small furry creatures tustled near the water.
Ramona examined the particularly deep wildgrass nearby, the stalks that reached up to her arms, peering through to catch any Pokemon dawdling nearby.

A Poochyena trotted through the grass, its nose to the ground as if tracking prey. As she looked at it, it looked up at her, its golden eyes glaring. Ramona pointed before it could run. "Secret Power!" Jello slammed into the Poochyena, a spark of green energy flying up from the impact.
The little pooch Pokemon tumbled. Ramona reached into her bag and threw a Pokeball.

The ball shook three times, and then it was still. The Pokemon was captured! Ramona was still in a daze, adrenaline whirring in her head, through her fingers and toes. Jello approached the Pokeball before she did, analyzed it. Its new friend. She caught a Poochyena.
"Did you see that!?" she whipped around to face Blaire, pointing at the still Pokeball as if it were a golden nugget, the rarest creature in the world. "I caught a Pokemon!"

"I saw! Good job!" Blaire smiled, feeling a bit warmer from the infectious happiness Ramona exuded. It was a stark contrast from Sue, and she was thankful for it. She needed that to calm down the anger that had been simmering beneath her skin. It certainly wasn't going to help her catch a Pokémon of her own. Now, she needed to find one...

A Zigzagoon ran through the grass, making its presence known through a hint of fur and the disturbance of the blades. Blaire watched it go, pointing in its direction. "Reddick, use Bite!" Her Growlithe rushed through the brush, putting its all into catching up with the speedy Pokémon. He was successful, grabbing onto it with his strong canines. It yelped and thrashed about, trying to escape, but Growlithe refused to let it leave. Blaire rushed over to the entangled Pokémon, pulling out a Pokéball and tossing it in.

The ball shook three times, and then it was still. Blaire smiled, pumping her fist as she went to pick it up. Her Growlithe looked up at her happily, barking once. She turned back to Ramona, holding the Pokéball in her hand. "Looks like we both got a new Pokémon." They were both on their way to whatever future this island had in store for them. Hopefully it had nothing to do with people like Sue.

Ramona picked up her Pokeball and watched Blaire's triumph. Her spirits felt permanently high, like the ground had disappeared beneath her and now all she had was the sweet, sunkissed air. "I'm happy I met you, Blaire," she said. "Are you competing in the League? Do you live in the Pokemon Center in Huanglu City?" She looked up at the clouds, which were trimmed with a strawberry color. She was buzzing, and it would be nice to go back home with someone.
"We could catch the next train together. If you are heading there, of course."

"Really?" Blaire stared at Ramona for a moment. She hadn't been completely friendless back in Cinnabar, but she'd never heard someone say they were happy to have met her. It threw her for a loop, to a point where she realized that she had strangely silent for too long. "I mean, that's great! I'm glad I met you too, Ramona." She tapped her fingers in the air, shaking them back and forth to try and put herself back on track.
"I am, and I do. You are too, right?" She could only imagine Ramona was, since she was out there catching Pokémon. It seemed like something a league competitor would do. "I'd love to catch the next train with you." She smiled, giving Ramona a thumbs up. It wouldn't be so bad to have someone to talk to on the ride home. Had she actually met her first enemy and friend on this one trip to the grasslands? It certainly seemed so.

What a bizarre day. Ramona gave a yawn to the waning sky. "Let's go, then," she said, with a voice that didn't express any particular hurry. "The next train should be coming soon. I heard it gets kind of cold at night out here."
There was another long walk through the plains in order to get back to town. But this time she would be doing it with a friend. Ramona smiled to herself and began in the direction she came in.
