Dae-hyun lounged on the rented houseboat. With the arrival of the many trainers from foreign lands, he knew his free time was going to be short-lived. As such, his manager advised him to take some time off before he got very busy. Dae-hyun didn't object. It was difficult to hold the persona of Dante all the time. Sipping at his Oran berry-flavored drink, the teen sat out on the deck in swim trunks. He wasn't quite ready to get into the water yet. The sun still felt comforting to him.
Dae-hyun took up his vacation away from the bustling port city of Huanglu. No matter if people followed A-pop or not— any attention while he relaxed was unwelcome. However, he wasn’t going to be rude if someone approached him. He couldn’t bring himself to be rude towards fans or new trainers.
A creak in the wood of the dock next to the boat caused the idol to raise a brow, and look over, heaving a great sigh. “How may I help you?” He asked pleasantly.

After wandering around aimlessly for what seemed like ages, she had finally arrived. Astra had heard of the lakes from other trainers, all of them told her how relaxing and healing it was! It was just what Astra needed, she wasn't able to really sleep on the boat here, and she didn't want to sleep in a noisy city with more trainers arriving. The lake sounded perfect, a dream that she wanted to make real at the moment. However there was a small problem, the young girl was pretty awful at directions. The only helpful advice she got was a point in the direction of the lakes, they did say some other things but it was all a blurred memory and all she could do was nod and pretend to understand.
Against all odds she made it, she managed to find herself in front of a beautiful lake. Triumph! Astra thought to herself, but then things took a turn. While she was looking for the lakes, she kept eevee inside the pokeball since at time's he could be chaotic by running off. But somehow, he managed to get out without Astra releasing him. And as soon as he was released.. that little rascal ran straight towards the lake, without a thought of stopping. 'Oh no!!!' was Astra's only thought as she ran after him, but eevee was way to fast. He jumped off the docks, plunging straight into the crystal clear waters of the lake. Splashing everything in the area.
Thats when she heard another voice, she didn't really make out what he said. So she greeted him in the friendliest manner possible, "Hi!"

Dae-hyun offered her a smile. "Was that your eevee that just leaped into the water?" He asked, setting his drink on the table next to his chair. "It can swim, right?" Sitting up, his dark hair swooped forward, and the teen peered over the edge to where the pokemon had taken the plunge. "If you aren't careful, it might want to be a Vaporeon," He stood, still in only his swim trunks. Jumping in the water sounded nice, but he wasn't going to do that when there were other people around. There was a reason he had taken up the houseboat the furthest from the city. The idol looked over his shoulder at the trainer, the first thing he noiced was her fluffy hair and polite deminor.

"Ah, yes this guy really enjoys swimming! So I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into a vaporeon." She said with a nod, speaking in a rather formal and polite tone. She glanced towards the lake watching eevee as he carelessly splashed nearby pokemon. The lake was beautiful; clear, quiet, peaceful. A sudden guilt overcame Astra, she realized that this man was probably here for some relaxation as well, and she ruined it for her. She glanced at his face again, there was something familiar about him but she didn't know what it was. Just then Astra's eevee bounced back onto land, shaking himself dry. Then making his way towards Dae-hyun giving him a few sniffs out of curiosity, eevee then purred happily giving Dae-hyun a friendly nudge. "Ah sorry about him! He's a troublemaker but really loves attention." She gave eevee a quick glare before diverting her attention back to Dae-hyun. "Anyway's My name is Astra. Pleasure to meet you." She said, bowing respectfully.

"Uh--" The eevee leaped out of the water, sending water droplets all over Dae-hyun. It rubbed it's wet pelt against his calfs, and he looked over at the other trainer with a forced polite smile. "Yes, a pleasure. My name is Dae-hyun." He responded with a slight bow, before slowly stepping away from the eevee to the side of the boat. Both hands on the side, he looked over the boat and after a moment, the glittering waters revealed a dark shape swimming swiftly to the surface. Abruptly, a Feebas leaped out of the water and into the trainer's arms, not before rotating in air gracefully. For a moment, a genuine grin crossed the teen's face "Alright, come back in. Hope you enjoyed it." Pulling out the pokeball, Dae-hyun pressed the button to call the pokemon back. In a red light, he was empty handed once again, and the polite smile returned. "So, what is your pokemon's name then, Astra?" He managed to remember, after a slight second of thought.

She really needed to teach her eevee to behave better around strangers. It was ironic really, Astra herself tended to be more polite and formal then she needs to be around others, but this eevee didn't seem to have a care in the world. However the last thing Astra wanted to be was a demanding trainer, she wanted to be a trainer that allowed her pokemon to be happy. There really wasn't a point to be so fixated on winning the league, sure the objective of this island was to become the first champion but that wasn't Astra's goal. She mainly wanted to get away from the city life, experience new things and meet new pokemon with her partner - eevee with her. Astra watched in awe as a feebas leaped from the water, a smile appeared on her face when it returned to Dae-hyun's pokeball. She was caught off guard by his question, she wasn't the most creative when it came to names. "He doesn't have one right now, still thinking about it." She said with a chuckle. Astra was curious to know if Dae-Hyun was here to battle or if there was a different purpose.

Dae-hyun responded with a nod. "Pokemon are sometimes picky with the names that their trainer gives them. You have the right idea waiting to find one that sticks." The idol turned to watch the eevee with consideration. "Or, you can be like me, and list nicknames until they like one." Returning to his chair, Dae-hyun took a small bag of poffins. "Do you know what flavor he likes the most?" Inside the bag were five various colors. "My Feebas enjoys dry poffins, but I have a feeling..." The dark haired boy trailed off, pulling a yellow--sour--poffin from the bag. "You seem to be a bold eevee, aren't you?" Crouching low, he held out the poffin for the eevee to try. The most interesting part of pokemon to Dae-hyun was their personalities, and seeing what they liked to eat. This eevee would have to be pretty bold to climb up onto his boathouse and immediately rub up to a stranger.

Astra was relieved when Dae-hyun said that. She felt pressured into picking a name for him by other trainers, but Dae-hyun seemed to understand where she was coming from. She glanced towards eevee who seemed to be more interested in Dae-hyun as he watched him with gleaming eyes and a friendly expression. Astra watched curiously as Dae-hyun pulled out some poffins from his bag, she knew her eevee would be thrilled to get a treat from him since Astra didn't have the chance to feed him yet. When eevee saw the bag of poffins his behavior changed, he immediately sat down and glanced back at his trainer for permission to take it. Astra found it funny how eevee changed from his annoying behavior to his best, just for a puffin from Dae-hyun. She nodded and granted eevee permission to eat it, in which he happily did. The eevee smiled happily, giving Dae-hyun another friendly nudge as a thank you for the delicious treat.
"You seem to know a lot about pokemon." Astra said impressed at how he knew what type of puffin eevee enjoyed the most. "Are you here for competing in the league?"

Seeing the pokemon enjoy the treat, Dae-hyun smiled and patted it on the head as it gave him a nudge in thanks. He at first wasn't very excited to have his relaxation interrupted, but Astra was polite and despite the Eevee's bold behaviors taking him by surprise, Dae-hyun felt a bit more comfortable. After all, she wasn't a fan or what he deemed anti-fans. She just was a new trainer looking forward to this new region to explore. It must be nice. At her question, he glanced up at her. "Oh, No. I'm not participating in the Leauge. I don't think they'd let me." Dae-hyun laughed it off. Participating in battles wasn't what he enjoyed doing. Rather, working with pokemon and participating with them sounded much more up his alley. "I'm running contests for the Islands. So, if you end up being part of a contest, I'll be the judge." He put the bag of treats away and brushing off his hands. "Are you going for the league, then? It is a long road there."

Wow how incredible luck, to meet a judge on the first few days of her arrival? Astra became flustered, It became obvious to her that Dae-hyun had very little relaxation time. Her and eevee completely ruined the only break he probably had in ages. She wasn't sure what to do, should she leave him so he could enjoy his day off without having to be bothered by a young tourist? That seemed like a good choice but Astra became worried that he would misunderstand her as being rude if she left so quickly. She had no clue what to do, there was the obvious option to just ask Dae-hyun if he would like to be alone. "Ah, I see. If I'm disturbing you on you're day off, I could leave." She responded politely. She was curious to know what exactly the 'contests' were. She heard about them before but didn't get the fine details. Astra knew that the league was going to be a difficult journey, she wasn't well prepared for it but with her trusty partner at her side, she was up for the journey. "Me and eevee will go up that road together." Astra said with a confident grin.

Well, it would be rude to wave her away, wouldn't it? "No, it is no trouble at all." He offered her another smile. "Do you want to sit down?" Dae-hyun nodded his head toward the door leading into the houseboat. She wouldn't be able to jump in the water, then into the house boat like her Eevee could. He walked into the house boat, vanishing from view for a short moment. Then with a click the door opened, allowing her to come through the interior of the house boat to the patio area of it. The inside of the house boat was one that looked like cabin, it was a small, one bedroom, with a bathroom at the other side. The inside did not look very lived in. A suitcase sat on the bed that lined itself with the far wall. Ingrediants for some sort of meal were sat on the counter.
In passing, leading her back, he picked up an extra chair to take outside, placing it next to the other. "You are a new trainer then," Dae-hyun began, sitting himself down, and bringing his drink back to his lips. He continued before taking a sip. "Where are you from?"

Astra was grateful that Dae-hyun was kind, and didn't end up turning her away. She politely nodded to his offer, and waited for him as he ducked back into the house boat. She glanced back out towards the lake, the sight of all the wild pokemon filled her with happiness. She wanted to add another team-member but unfortunately she didn't have any pokeball's she forgot to purchase some back at the city. It wasn't a big deal, there would be many other chances to find a new member. When the door opened she walked over, having a quick glance around. It seemed to be in new condition, there wasn't much furniture and she didn't see any damages.Astra sat down in the chair Dae-hyun placed smiling a thanks.
Her eevee jumped onto her lap when Astra sat down, finding a comfortable position and closing his eyes to nap soundly. She chuckled softly, she figured he must be tired after all that mischief he caused earlier. Her gaze went back towards Dae-hyun, "Oh Im from Viridian City, quite a long way from home." She started rubbing eevee's ears as they chatted. "Are you originally from Amrys?"

Dante sipped for a long moment, as the once rowdy Eevee curled into the trainer's lap. Amused, at how fast it calmed down, he almost missed Astra's question. "From the islands? No." He shook his head, placing the cup on the table, glancing back at the boardwalks not too far away. "I'm from Nimbasa City in Unova. It's where I got my start with contests as well as theatre." Which is where he also got picked up to become an idol. The talent scout loved the way his Minccino (at the time) and he worked together on the stage, and took him to 'idol boot camp'. Which was...something. But he was where he is now because of the work he put into contests and his band. Though, it really has limited the connections he makes with the people around him.
"Did you just get your Eevee?" He questioned, looking over at the now sleeping pokemon. "I'm assuming so if you haven't named him. That also means you have just arrived at the islands then--so--welcome to Amrys I suppose." Dae-hyun laughs to himself, picking up the cup once again. "Sorry, that's a bit assumptive isn't it?"

Astra laughed pleasantly and nodded when Dae-hyun asked. "I've only had this eevee for a week." In the short period that they've been together, eevee had Astra wrapped under his little claws. "As you can see he's quite the handful most of the times." She playfully roughed up his fur only to be countered by a rough smack the face with his tail. Shocked at first she laughed nervously and tried to pretend that it never happened. When he mentioned where he was from her mind went blank, Astra didn't explore much she would often just stay tucked away in her little home in the city. This was her and eevee's first time being in a new region. "Not at all, you're actually right on the spot." Astra said with an innocent grin, "Thank you for welcoming me!"

Dae-hyun had to struggle not to spit out his drink as the Eevee tail slapped its owner in response. Managing to now have it come out of his nose, the teen coughed away the remaining juice, doing his best to maintain composure. "Of course--" He began, breaking off into a cough and clearing his throat. "It was probably an easy guess, there were quite a few boats bringing people into the harbor the other day." Swishing his cup, Dae-hyun realized that he was running out of his drink. "Oh, I'm a bad host. Would you like something to drink? I don't have a lot, mostly berry juices and Miltank Milk." He seemed slightly embarassed to not have a lot in his rental house, but he honestly wasn't staying in the house much longer.
