Trapinch couldn't move out of it, but at least it wasn't hit square in the nose again. The attack wasn't too severe, but it still concerned her. Trapinch may not be able to stand even chip damage for too long. "Bite, Kora!" she wanted to pile on as much damage as quickly as possible. The Trapinch reared up on its hind legs and opened its mouth.

Lydia took a deep breath. "Kora..." she spoke, "...use Bite!". Trapinch panted, probably getting exhausted from the fighting. It rushed forwards and leapt at the Natu, jaws opened.

He was down two Pokemon already. He heard the crowd cheering, knowing they weren't whooping for him. This was a nightmare. His first battle ever, and it was a nightmare. He didn't know what he was doing. He didn't even prepare for his opponent's team. "Gino..." he said. He couldn't hide the dejection in his voice as he sent out his Cubone. The Trapinch smiled and started to hop around. It seemed proud of defeating two pokemon. Lydia still wasn't any less uneasy when Cubone was sent. '...I don't have advantage over that kind of pokemon,' she thought to herself. She took a second to quickly think over her next move.

Lydia finalized on the idea of what to do. "Go for a Bide!" she shouted. The Trapinch planted its stubby legs on the ground evenly and looked directly towards the Cubone as it braced for attack.
Trapinch is bracing himself...

If he was moving first, the little Cubone would have a chance of flinching the opponent. Ernest grimaced. He would try his best to do what he could, and go on training.
"Gino, use Iron Head!" The Cubone gave a faithful nod and ran with its arms out towards the opponent.

The Trapinch almost stumbled, but he still managed to stay firmly planted on the ground. It remained unflinching as it stood there, almost ready to release the damage it had built up

The opponent was still charging. If this hit, it could very well end the threat. Ernest pointed: "Finish it, Gino! Iron Head!" The Cubone began to charge once more.

Trapinch tumbled maybe a foot backwards from the sheer impact. The power from that one strike made Lydia flinch for a second. "Kora!" she shouted. The Trapinch didn't move. Lydia gulped and pulled out her pokeball, "Return!". The pokeball emitted red light and safely drew the Trapinch back. "You did amazing out there..." she muttered, grabbing the next pokeball. Lydia blinked, then threw it out into the arena.
"Go, Nisshoku!" she shouted as the pokeball flew. With a flash of light, the crowd sounded some light cheers. Were they unenthusiastic, or was the crowd just small? Whatever, it didn't matter.

Another Pokemon. Ernest wiped his brow, looked up at the audience. He seemed to have gained some favor. Some of the people were chanting for Deino. He smiled. Even if he loses, this was all he wanted.
