Even in its grizzled state, Cubone still seemed ready to attack. It was getting hurt pretty bad, but pulling through. Ernest only had to point, and it ran for its next Iron Head attack.

This was for the marbles on this 1-against-1. Cubone let out something akin to a roar as it charged and hit Deino, and the crowd rose to a cacophony. Was this its second KO? Deino yelped as the Cubone made one last attack against it. It laid on its stomach after stumbling for a little bit. It tried to stand up, managed to lift itself a few inches, but then it fell back down with a more quiet yelp. It lifted it's head up as it could hear its trainer send its pokeball over to return it. It laid its head down with a low pitched growl, disappointed in itself from its defeat. Deino was wrapped in light then returned to its pokeball.
Lydia held her breath for few seconds. They were both down to their last pokemon. It was both frightening and exciting. She swallowed down the fear. This was a great match. She quickly grabbed the last pokeball and sent out her Gible.
Gible locked eyes with the Cubone, then let out a small roar. It shut its jaws swiftly, then planted its feet down as it prepared to attack.

Gible snarled at the Cubone. It wanted to fight after what happened to its comrades. "Mordere, use Tackle!" Lydia shouted. Without hesitating, the Gible ran forwards towards the Cubone.
Accuracy Roll: 1d20 + 3 enaQD6Lt1-20 Total: 23
The Gible threw its huge head against the Cubone directly. It managed to land the attack right on the Cubone's chin. It then shouted once more as the Cubone was knocked backwards, which seemed to excite the crowd.

It was a powerful attack. Cubone looked almost out of life. The only thing Ernest could do was try and get a few good hits on the opponent, and hope it missed with its next attacks.
A point. Cubone charged with an Iron Head.

Despite its valiant effort, with one last tackle, the Cubone did not have the strength to get up. The referee sprinted over to the Pokemon, analyzed it, and threw up his flag. "It is unable to battle. The winner is Lydia!"
The crowd cheered, louder than Ernest ever expected they would. And for some reason, thanks to the efforts of his Pokemon, he felt ecstatic. He did what he always wanted to do, and there were plenty of battles to be had in the future. He walked across the field, returned Cubone to its Pokeball, and reached out a hand to Lydia.
"I haven't felt that young in at least a decade," he said. "Congratulations!"

Lydia blinked almost in disbelief as the referee announced she was the winner. She smiled as pride and joy filled her soul. She then walked over towards Ernest. Lydia nodded and shook his hand, "Thank you. That was a great match!".
The Gible raised both of it's arms upwards in victory. It seemed to enjoy the roaring crowd, and let out a roar itself. Then it waddled over to Lydia and trilled. She pat the Gible's head before she returned it to its pokeball. "You're a pretty great trainer," she spoke as she placed Gible's pokeball onto her belt.
